I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced practice credentials, an eclectic orientation, and over twenty years of experience. I do both short and long term work with adults and adolescents, individuals and couples (including heterosexual, gay, and lesbian). I have evening hours and offer a sliding fee scale as needed. My office is a warm, safe place in Lincoln Park, with free parking behind the building. I also see some clients in Evanston. Areas of special interest and experience include depression and anxiety, problems with self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship problems, family of origin issues; issues of weight and body image, single adults, abuse survivors, and trauma recovery.
As a psychotherapist I strive to provide my clients with an empathic and collaborative relationship which is focused on their healing and development. I support and assist them in a process of self-exploration which involves making conections between past experiences and present adaptations, identifying self-defeating patterns of perception and behavior, and recognizing and utilizing their own unique capacities for growth and change.
