Do you want better relationships? Would you like to move beyond the losses you've suffered to find peace and contentment? Do you want more meaning in your life? I can help you accomplish all of this and more. Chances are you need to understand yourself better, to listen to your own inner wisdom, to take responsibility for your life by facing reality. To learn to care for yourself, accept every part of yourself, and think clearly, without distortions. I can help you develop courage, integrity, and a stronger sense of self. Call me, and let's talk about your life.

My specialty is relationship counseling with couples, individuals, families, and groups. I will help you get past the ways you get stuck in your relationships, especially your relationship with a significant other. I work with people struggling with problems that include anxiety, depression, career difficulties, eating disorders, addictions, and childhood abuse.

Some tools I offer to help with this process are: wonderful books and classes to teach and inspire you (Resurrecting Sex, How to Talk so Kids Will Listen, and more); exercises to develop skills like self soothing, listening, and parenting; extended sessions for couples; focusing (focusing.org); and EMDR (emdr.org).

I am a 1982 graduate of the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois, a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, a Certified Focusing Trainer, and have advanced training in EMDR.
